Therapeutic Horseback Riding
Mindful, Serene Horse Classes - Mid-Michigan
Do you want your kids to learn better coping and stress reduction skills?
You want something different from traditional riding lessons, but you still want your child or teenager to have a chance to be around horses.
Our therapeutic riding lessons aren’t therapy, but they are taught by therapists and certified instructors. They are a good fit for you if:
Nature and animals seem to ground you and bring you peace
You prefer interactive and trauma-informed teaching
You learn by practicing and experiencing, rather than hearing
Adults welcome too! You can connect with a kind and beautiful animal and learn riding while experiencing its innate therapeutic benefits under the guidance of a Certified Instructor.
How Our Therapeutic Riding Classes Work with PATH Certified Instructors
Our therapeutic riding lessons are only taught by staff that bring decades of experience with horses, riders with medical or mental health issues, and PATH training and certification. Our students report that there are a lot of options out there, but that we are one of the only options in the area that has fully certified PATH Intl instructors available who also teach the “Principles of Therapeutic Riding” curriculum to PATH certification candidates and have enough experience to supervise their hour-logging. PATH is the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, the organization that has set the standard since its inception in 1969 and currently serves over 60,000 participants per year.
